Job summary

GlobalFoundries seeks a senior Quantum Ion Trap Technology Architect to guide Ion-Trap quantum technologies from research to manufacturable architectures. You will work across device physics, materials, fabrication, packaging, and system architecture to shape long-term roadmaps and external research engagements.

You will lead technical programs, define experiments and prototypes, and mentor engineers while interfacing with customers and partners to meet program milestones and deliverables.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or Materials Science.
• 12+ years of experience and willingness to travel ~15%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and influence long-term quantum technology roadmaps focused on ion trapping platforms.
• Shape device concepts, architectures, and fabrication approaches for ion trapping.
• Define experiments, simulations, and prototypes to improve qubit performance and manufacturability.
