About the role

D-Wave is seeking a Quantum Engineer II to join the Advance Device Development group. The role focuses on advanced quantum device characterization, data analysis, and validation of new device concepts to improve workflows and support device development cycles.

What you'll do
  • Design and perform microwave, electrical, and cryogenic measurements.
  • Maintain and optimize cryogenic and measurement systems and associated workflows to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Develop and execute experiments for device characterization and validation.
  • Perform data analysis to identify device performance characteristics and key contributing factors.
  • Develop and maintain experiment automation and data‑analysis pipelines.
  • Identify procedure or tool issues and implement practical improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support device evaluation and provide experimental feedback into development cycles.
  • Maintain well‑organized documentation of methods, results, and datasets.
Qualifications
  • M.Sc. and/or 2 years of relevant experience; or PhD in physics, electrical engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with superconducting quantum devices, device physics, and measurement techniques.
  • Experience in DC/RF measurements and cryogenic systems.
  • Proficiency in scientific programming for instrument control, data acquisition, analysis, and automation.
  • Ability to analyze data, troubleshoot technical issues, and identify practical solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal scientific communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork skills in interdisciplinary physics and engineering environments.
Benefits
