Job summary

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is seeking a Staff Scientific Computing Engineer for the Education Unit to develop, deliver, and maintain the Quantum Computing Hub's educational ecosystem.

You will design training programs, onboarding materials, and workshops to help scientists apply quantum computing to biomedical and chemical research. You will collaborate with quantum researchers, computational scientists, software engineers, and external partners to translate quantum technologies into

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or Master's with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Significant experience in independent scientific analyses and/or image data management.
• Experience in applied computational fields: ML, computational modeling, scientific visualization, HPC and distributed computing.
• Substantial programming experience in two or more common languages.
• Experience with large data volumes and scientific data management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain educational materials for quantum computing, including tutorials and hands-on exercises.
• Provide technical training and onboarding for faculty, postdocs, researchers, and trainees.
• Create and deliver workshops, short courses, lectures, and seminars for the scientific community.
• Design curricula for biomedical and chemical applications in the quantum hub.
• Build documentation and best-practices for quantum algorithm development and quantum chemistry workflows.
• Support collaborative research projects and grant proposals related to quantum education.
