Job summary

Princeton University is seeking a versatile researcher to support the Quantum Diamond Laboratory and PPPL in growing diamond materials for quantum technologies. The role combines CVD growth, device fabrication, and interdisciplinary collaboration with scientists from Princeton University and PPPL.

The candidate should have a technical background in physics or materials science and be skilled in characterization techniques such as Raman spectroscopy, PL, SEM, AFM, XPS or TEM.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field (Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering).
• Experience following procedures and documenting results in a lab setting.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to work in a controlled environment.
• Experience with diamond growth, nanofabrication, and characterization techniques is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in growth of high-purity single-crystal diamond via CVD with controlled defect incorporation.
• Fabricate diamond-based quantum and photonic devices, including surface processing and patterning.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across materials science, quantum physics, and device engineering.
• Prepare and publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
• Maintain equipment and uphold safety protocols in the lab.
