Job summary

IBM Research Scientists drive the leading edge of quantum computing technologies, building scalable fault-tolerant quantum processors. A successful candidate will characterize devices, particularly room-temperature Josephson junctions for multi-qubit processors, and design scalable test throughput for cryogenic environments.

The role requires a Doctorate, plus 5+ years in device physics and related testing, and familiarity with Python.

Qualifications

• Proven record of research accomplishment.
• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics, or related experience in device characterization.
• Familiarity with programming languages (Python or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Characterize devices and test room-temperature Josephson junctions for multi-qubit processors.
• Design schemes to scale test throughput on cryogenic devices.
• Disseminate results via patents and publications; represent IBM at professional meetings.
