Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to manage project costs for residential and commercial developments in Paarl, Western Cape. You will oversee budgets, valuations, claims, and final accounts while advising on cost management and contracts.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, 5+ years of experience, and strong knowledge of JBCC/NEC contracts. Registration with SACQSP is highly advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
• Proficiency in cost estimating software and MS Office.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in quantity surveying, preferably with residential and commercial exposure.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for residential and commercial construction projects.
• Manage the tender process, including tender documentation and evaluation of submissions.
• Administer construction contracts, monitor progress payments and variations.
• Conduct site valuations and prepare interim payment certificates.
• Manage final accounts and resolve discrepancies or disputes.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks on projects.
• Provide cost reports to stakeholders and senior management.
• Negotiate with contractors and suppliers to achieve best value.
