Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of major infrastructure programmes and work with project teams to keep projects on time and within budget.

Ideal candidates will have a degree in Quantity Surveying and experience in utilities or similar sectors, with strong NEC contracts knowledge and excellent communication skills. The role offers a hybrid work pattern and immediate start on a long-term programme.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying or related commercial discipline.
  • Experience in utilities, water, environmental, aviation, nuclear or major infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts and commercial management principles.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams within a fast-paced project environment.
  • Full right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Managing subcontractor procurement, administration and account management.
  • Preparing and reviewing applications for payment.
  • Valuing variations, compensation events and change control processes.
  • Producing cost reports, forecasts and commercial updates.
  • Supporting contract administration and ensuring contractual compliance.
  • Working collaboratively with project managers, engineers and site teams to maximise commercial performance.
  • Assisting with risk management and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Your new company

A leading infrastructure contractor delivering long-term projects across the utilities sector is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. With a strong pipeline of secured work and projects running for several years, this is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established business offering both immediate contract work and a clear pathway into a permanent position.

Your new role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for supporting the commercial management of a major infrastructure programme, working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing subcontractor procurement, administration and account management
  • Preparing and reviewing applications for payment
  • Valuing variations, compensation events and change control processes
  • Producing cost reports, forecasts and commercial updates
  • Supporting contract administration and ensuring compliance with contractual requirements
  • Working collaboratively with project managers, engineers and site teams to maximise commercial performance
  • Assisting with risk management and identifying opportunities for cost savings and value improvement

This is an immediate requirement offered on an initial contract basis with a transition into a permanent role after approximately 15 weeks.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial discipline
  • Previous experience working within utilities, water, environmental, aviation, nuclear or other major infrastructure sectors
  • Strong understanding of NEC contracts and commercial management principles
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams within a fast-paced project environment
  • Full right to work in the UK
