Job summary

Appoint is seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team within a leading civil engineering context. The role focuses on the commercial management of highways works, including valuations, payment assessments, cost reporting and forecasting.

The ideal candidate will have a commercial background in highways, experience with NEC3/NEC4, and the ambition to take on greater responsibility within a long-term highways environment.

Qualifications

• Commercial background within highways, ideally gained across maintenance or term service contracts.
• Experience supporting valuations, payment assessments, cost reporting and forecasting.
• Understanding NEC change and contract administration, including compensation events and early warning processes.
• Good commercial awareness, with attention to detail and ability to communicate with commercial, operational and project teams.
• Ambition to take on increased responsibility within a long-term highways environment.

Job description

Our client is a leading Civil Engineering business currently supporting the commercial delivery of a significant Highways framework. As part of this programme, they are looking to appoint an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join the wider commercial team.

We're looking for someone with:

• A commercial background within highways, ideally gained across maintenance or term service contracts;
• Working knowledge of NEC3 and/or NEC4, with exposure to Term Service Contracts and Options A, C and E;
• Experience supporting the commercial management of highways works, including valuations, payment assessments, cost reporting and forecasting;
• An understanding of NEC change and contract administration, including compensation events and early warning processes;
• Good commercial awareness, with strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with commercial, operational and project teams;
• The ambition to take on increased responsibility and continue developing within a long-term highways environment.

The role & package:

Hybrid working - typically 1-3 days per week on site/in the office, with the remainder working remotely.

Package includes 25 days' annual leave + bank holidays, private healthcare and annual bonus.
