Job summary

Moderna is seeking a hands-on Scientist to join the CMC Quantitative Sciences (QS) team in Norwood, MA. The QS team applies statistics, data science, machine learning, mechanistic and predictive modeling to decisions across the product, process and platform lifecycles.

In this role you will partner with scientists, engineers, manufacturing, analytical, quality, regulatory, and digital teams to solve scientific and operational problems using fit-for-purpose quantitative approaches.

Qualifications

• PhD/MS/BS in Statistics, Biostatistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or related STEM discipline.
• Demonstrated depth in at least one quantitative area (statistics, ML, data science, mechanistic modeling, data engineering).
• Experience applying quantitative methods to scientific/technical problems.
• Proficiency with R, Python, SQL and statistical software to manipulate and analyze data.
• Ability to communicate complex methods and results to cross-functional partners.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan and execute moderately complex quantitative analyses and data solutions.
• Translate questions into analytical objectives and identify data requirements.
• Apply statistics, ML, mechanistic modeling, and data engineering methods.
• Lead defined projects or workstreams with timelines and resources.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design studies and translate results into decisions.
• Develop reproducible analyses, code, and documentation in line with GxP expectations.
