Job summary

Mesirow, an independent, employee-owned financial services firm headquartered in Chicago, seeks a Quantitative Research Operations Analyst to support the Chief Investment Officer and Quantitative Research team. The role starts with operational focus and may grow into full quantitative research responsibilities in asset allocation, capital market assumptions, and glide path development.

Successful candidates will have 1–3 years of relevant experience, strong programming in R, and advanced Excel

Qualifications

Advanced degree in finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or related field.
CFA charter holder or progress toward CFA preferred.
1–3 years of professional quantitative finance experience.
Strong attention to detail and programming skills in R; Excel proficiency required.
Knowledge of asset allocation, capital market assumptions, and Monte Carlo simulation.

Responsibilities

Document and operate quantitative financial processes for asset allocation and glide path development.
Update internal/client deliverables and improve processes as needed.
Develop new quantitative processes using statistics, risk management, and simulations.
Discuss results with investment professionals and advise on policy changes.
Apply advanced financial theory to real-world investment problems.
