Job summary

American Century Investments invites qualified graduate students to join our Quantitative Research Group for a 10-week internship based in New York City or Kansas City. The program runs June 2 through August 6, 2026, with a 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, and a pay rate of $30 per hour.

This position is for students enrolled in Master’s programs in Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, or related fields.

Qualifications

• This role is intended for currently enrolled Master’s students studying Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, or other related disciplines.
• Understanding of, and interest in, global capital markets and investing.
• Coding experience is required.
• Ability to communicate technical findings and work within a team environment.
• Curious and eager to learn about data-driven underpinnings of quantitative investing, and the challenges involved.

Responsibilities

• Be mentored by a quantitative researcher and interact with a group of quantitative investment professionals.
• Lead a project aimed at improving our existing investment approach and/or analyze new opportunities.
• Gain real-world experience by working with a variety of financial datasets.

Role Summary

The Quantitative Research Group at American Century Investments is looking for a sharp, critical thinker with a passion for investing, analysis and big datasets. The work you do will directly contribute to enhancing the team’s research capabilities and security selection algorithms.

This program is for currently enrolled graduate students. The deadline to apply is November 1, 2026.

• Location: this onsite position will be based out of our New York City or Kansas City office.
• Program dates: June 2nd - August 6th (10 weeks)
• Work schedule: 40 hours/week - Monday-Friday (8am-5pm)

What You Bring To The Team (Required)

• This role is intended for currently enrolled Master’s students studying Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, or other related disciplines.
• Understanding of, and interest in, global capital markets and investing.
• Coding experience is required.
• Ability to communicate technical findings and work within a team environment.
• Most of all, we are looking for someone who is curious and eager to learn about data-driven underpinnings of quantitative investing, and all the fun and challenging problems that go along with it.

Additional Assets (Preferred)

For New York based, the salary for this role is $30/hour. Actual offers are based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s location, skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training. This position is eligible for cash incentive providing the potential to earn more.
