Graham Capital Management, L.P. is looking for a Quantitative Research Analyst to join their Quantitative Strategies team in Norwalk, Connecticut. The role involves researching and developing improvements to existing trading systems and creating new systematic trading signals to enhance the firm's strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and develop methods to enhance existing trading signals for efficiency, profitability, and robustness.
- Create new trading signals that diversify production strategies in terms of style, alpha sources, and markets.
- Develop portfolio construction and optimization methods to maximize performance while managing risk and trading costs.
- Improve the scalability and flexibility of portfolios to meet client-specific investment needs.
- Follow rigorous research and development procedures to minimize discrepancies between simulated and actual performance.
- Collaborate in a research team environment using common development tools for effective implementation of research and trading systems.
- Coordinate with other departments (technology, operations, trading, marketing, accounting) to ensure efficient execution of ideas.
- Present findings and ideas regularly to management and the investment committee.
- Complete additional projects as assigned by senior management.
Required Experience
- 3+ years of related experience.
- Exposure to securities and derivatives markets and investment processes, particularly in mid-to-low frequency systematic strategies.
Qualifications
- MS or PhD in a quantitative field such as science, engineering, or finance.
- Advanced programming experience in languages suitable for quantitative design.
- Ability to synthesize complex topics into clear written commentary.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
The position requires commuting to the Rowayton, CT office Monday through Thursday, with remote work options on Fridays. The anticipated base salary range is $120,000 to $250,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
