Job summary

CU Boulder’s Gil Lab seeks a highly organized Research Lab Manager to coordinate a dynamic, interdisciplinary group studying animal behavior and coral reef ecosystems. You will oversee project timelines, mentor undergraduates, and support computational workflows on Alpine HPC, with emphasis on reproducibility and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in ecology, biology, CS, environmental science, or related field.
• Strong organizational and multi-project management abilities.
• Comfort with technical material (code, data pipelines) and quick learning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• High level of independence and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the large multi-project lab, track timelines, personnel, and deliverables.
• Support onboarding, training, and coordination of undergraduate researchers.
• Develop and maintain data processing and analysis workflows, primarily Python.
• Troubleshoot code, manage HPC workflows, and ensure reproducibility.
• Mentor undergraduates and maintain lab culture and communication.
• Assist with lab finances and daily operations.
