Job summary

London Stock Exchange Group is seeking an Application Developer to join the Fixed Income Analytics Application Development team in Buffalo, NY. You design and build fixed income analytics applications used by the front office for trading decisions, and enhance the Structuring Tool for securitized products.

You will modernize the codebase, leverage AI coding assistants, collaborate with product management and client services, and create unit/integration tests to ensure quality.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in a quantitative field (e.g., Financial Engineering, CS, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics)
  • Excellent programming skills in C/C++, .NET, Java or Python
  • 1–3 years of financial industry experience or academic training
  • Hands-on experience using AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor) in real development work
  • Strong code review skills applied to AI output and testing AI-generated code
  • Experience with automated testing and version control
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills with cross-functional teams
  • Willingness to learn and develop deep financial knowledge

Job Description London Stock Exchange Group is looking for an application developer to join a team of Fixed Income Analytics Application Development.

Main Responsibilities
  • Design and develop fixed income analytics applications, used by front office for trading and investment decision-making
  • Implement and enhance the Structuring Tool for securitized products, used for Securitized Product analysis and marketing
  • Maintain and modernize the existing codebase while preserving product stability
  • Use AI coding assistants and agentic tools to accelerate development, testing, and code understanding
  • Partner with product management and client service teams to solve product issues and deliver new features
  • Create unit tests and integration tests to ensure software meets requirements
  • Work closely with the Quality Engineering team to ensure the high quality of the deliverables
Essential Skills and Experience
  • An advanced degree (master’s or higher) in a quantitative field such as Financial Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, etc.
  • Excellent programming skills in one of the languages (C/C++, .NET, Java or Python)
  • 1 to 3 years of financial industry experience or academic training
  • Hands‑on experience using AI coding assistants (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude, Cursor) in real development work
  • Strong code review skills applied to AI output — quickly assessing, validating, refining and testing AI-generated code
  • Experience with automated testing and version control
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams

Compensation and Benefits

LSEG is committed to offering competitive Compensation and Benefits. The anticipated base salary for this position is $98,500 - $164,100. Please be aware base salary ranges may vary by geographic location, city and state. In addition to our offered base salary, this role is eligible for our Annual Incentive Plan (AIP/”bonus plan”). Target AIP rates will be commensurate with role level and posted career stage. Individual salary will be reflective of job related knowledge, skills and equivalent experience.
