The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is seeking a quantitative analyst in the RADAR Data Warehouse team within the SRC Department. You will serve as a data subject matter expert and manage data through its lifecycle, onboarding new data and delivering high-quality datasets for economists and analysts.
A key focus is applying Artificial Intelligence to enhance data management and analytics across datasets and projects.
Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is one of the 12 regional Reserve Banks that, together with the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., make up the Federal Reserve System. It helps formulate and implement monetary policy, supervises banks and bank and savings and loan holding companies, and provides financial services to depository institutions and the federal government. The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia serves eastern and central Pennsylvania, southern New Jersey, and Delaware.
The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia is seeking to fill a position in the Risk Assessment, Data Analysis and Research (RADAR) group of the Supervision, Regulation, and Credit (SRC) Department.
The job description below reflects the higher level of a dual grade job posting. Candidates who possess a slightly lower level of experience, education or qualifications may also be considered.
The salary grade for this position is: 13/15. Final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, experience and skills, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
RADAR provides leadership and expertise to the Federal Reserve System (FRS) on the supervision and regulation of large banking organizations in retail credit risk and fixed income, with particular emphasis on quantitative risk analysis. As the FRS's premier source of data in consumer credit, real estate, and natural disaster resiliency, the RADAR Data Warehouse (DW) team collects and maintains an array of very large databases and makes them available to analysts and researchers within the FRS. These data include the regulatory FR Y-14M first lien mortgage, home equity and credit card data, as well as a wide range of data acquired from external data vendors, other regulatory agencies, and public data sources. As part of a larger strategic initiative around data acquisition, data management, and consumer credit research, the unit also conducts analysis using these databases.
We are looking for a well-trained and motivated quantitative analyst to support management of these data. In this role, you will serve as a data subject matter expert (SME) and play an integral role in managing data through its lifecycle. You will develop expertise about the data including how it is used in business processes, and you will work closely with technical partners, data vendors, and various FRS stakeholders to deliver high-quality data for use across the FRS. A key part of this role will be applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance our data management and analytics.
You must have a bachelor's degree in business or quantitative disciplines (such as economics, finance, data science, statistics); an advanced degree is preferred. A minimum of five years of experience in banking, bank supervision, or a finance-related field is required for the higher job grade. Experience in using econometric software (such as R, Python) and familiarity with SQL or other analytical tools (e.g. Tableau) is required. Experience with tools such as Databricks, Collibra, Starburst, and AWS cloud platforms is a plus. Experience in working with large databases and/or data infrastructure is highly preferred. Experience in working with consumer credit and real estate data is a plus. Strong verbal and written communications skills are highly preferred. Advanced knowledge of artificial intelligence, including generative AI and code assist is a plus.
