Job summary

Quanta Services in Houston is seeking a motivated intern to gain hands-on experience in project management. You will assist with planning, coordination, monitoring, and documentation while learning PM methodologies and tools.

The 10-week paid internship includes a Lunch and Learn series, site visits, and ample networking with executives, offering practical exposure to project execution in the energy infrastructure sector.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled (or recently graduated) pursuing a related degree.
  • Less than 1 year of experience.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to own tasks.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication.
  • Familiarity with word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and email.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with day-to-day tasks and projects, including research and data entry.
  • Collaborate with team to plan and implement departmental activities.
  • Conduct research to support decision-making or project development.
  • Prepare and present reports, presentations, or other deliverables.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance skills.
  • Support project management by creating plans, defining objectives, milestones, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Coordinate project activities and resources, ensuring effective communication among team and stakeholders.
  • Monitor progress, track KPIs, and prepare project status reports.
  • Identify project risks and document them in a risk register; contribute to mitigation strategies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

About this Role

As a Quanta Services Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience and contribute to the successful execution of projects within our organization. You will work closely with our management team, assisting them in various project-related tasks, including planning, coordination, monitoring, and documentation. This internship will provide you with valuable exposure to project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with day-to-day tasks and projects, which may include research, data entry, administrative support, or assisting with specific initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members to contribute to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of departmental activities.
  • Conduct research and gather information to support decision-making processes or project development.
  • Prepare and present reports, presentations, or other deliverables as assigned.
  • Participate in team meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Support the project management team in creating project plans, defining project objectives, milestones, and deliverables, and establishing project timelines.
  • Assist in coordinating project activities, tasks, and resources, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders.
  • Help in monitoring project progress, tracking key performance indicators, and preparing project status reports to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Assist in identifying project risks, documenting them in a risk register, and contributing to the development of mitigation strategies.
  • Perform other dutiesas assigned
What You'll Bring
