Job summary

IMC Trading is offering a 10-week trading internship in Chicago, designed to give real exposure to the life of a trader through structured training, mentoring, and hands-on project work. Participants will receive a highly competitive compensation package with accommodations provided and mentorship to guide professional development.

Interns will collaborate with traders and technologists, learn options theory, and participate in simulations and real projects that may lead to a full-time Graduate

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled university student graduating between Sep 2027 and Jul 2028 in a quantitative field (Math, Physics, CS, or Economics).
• Strong analytical skills.
• Desire to learn and solve complex problems.
• Thrives and is able to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Not afraid to ask questions, take responsibility and learn from experience.
• A team player with a proactive mindset.
• Interest in Financial Markets; previous knowledge is NOT required.
• Experience in a programming language is a plus (Python, Matlab or R).
• Must be able to start the internship on June 7, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Participate in classroom-based training covering options theory, core principles of financial markets and trading simulations.
• Team up with traders and technologists to work on real projects that have potential to impact our business.
• Develop skills throughout the summer with support and feedback from a dedicated mentor and intern lead.
• Build valuable connections in an environment that recognizes and rewards problem solving, innovation and teamwork.
• Engage in professional development sessions aimed at helping you envision your future at IMC.
• Attend a full schedule of events and social activities to get to know your cohort and current employees.
