Job summary

Verition Fund Management LLC seeks a Data Sourcing Analyst to support data acquisition across the firm’s quantitative business, collaborating with portfolio managers, researchers, and tech teams to source traditional and alternative datasets.

The role manages vendor relationships, licensing, onboarding, governance, usage analysis, and budgeting, ensuring data quality and integration into research and trading workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 3–7 years of data sourcing, market data, or vendor management experience.
• Extreme organization and attention to detail; able to manage multiple stakeholders.
• Hedge Fund or Buy Side experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of quantitative markets.
• Experience sourcing and managing alternative datasets is desirable.
• Familiarity with data governance, licensing models, and vendor contracts.
• Strong communication with portfolio managers, quants, and technologists.

Responsibilities

• Manage all requests from quantitative investment personnel and source data.
• Maintain detailed notes and status of data usage in the quantitative vertical.
• Monitor external data landscape for new vendors and data sources.
• Translate investment needs into data sourcing requirements with PMs/researchers.
• Manage vendor relationships, pricing, contracts, renewals, and audits.
• Coordinate with Legal, Compliance, and Procurement on licensing and usage rights.
• Support cost allocation, usage tracking, and budget management.
• Oversee end-to-end data onboarding with Technology and Data Engineering teams.
• Ensure data quality, documentation, and metadata standards.
• Serve as the primary contact between data vendors and internal stakeholders.
