Yamaha Guitar Group is a small company, so our ideal candidate is able to work cross-functionally and collaborate to find the best solutions to complex problems. This temporary position is available until October 31, 2025, with an anticipated commitment of 20-40 hours per week. We are seeking to fill three openings.

Yamaha Guitar Group is looking for Quality Tester - Temps to help test, troubleshoot, and ensure the smooth functioning of Line 6 Helix products and software. The Quality Tester will collaborate closely with other development staff, including project leads, engineers, product owners and other Quality Testers to identify bugs, report issues, and ensure a seamless user experience.

Duties/ Responsibilities

• Executes Test plans and matrices, providing detailed reporting and record-keeping.
• Executes ad-hoc testing, looking for bugs by exercising likely real~world user paths.
• Enters and maintains current status of defects in bug databases, including verification of fixes and regression tests.
• Supports and attends Bug reviews, aiding in pre-review streamlining of supporting data.
• Assists with developing User and Developer documentation, including procedures, FAQs and tutorials.
  
  

Internal/External Contacts

• Direct and frequent interaction with Project Leads as well as Engineers.
• Direct and frequent interaction with Product Owners and UX designers.
• Contact with, and support for Customer Support and Service.
  
  

What You Bring To The Table

Required Skills / Abilities:

• Knowledge of Line 6 Helix, other guitar modeling processors and related software.
• Experience with MIDI devices, audio interfaces, and pedalboards.
• Background in audio engineering or musical performance.
• Familiarity with on-line collaboration tools such as Google G-Suite and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Working knowledge of several Digital Audio Workstations (e.g.: Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Cubase, etc.)
• Ability to write detailed defect reports (“bugs”) with minimal oversight.
• Experience working with Jira is preferred but not required.
