Job summary

GE Appliances in the United States, Camden, SC, seeks a Quality – Testing technician to perform comprehensive product performance tests across water heater models, DD Cooktop products, and subassembly parts. You will conduct field autopsies, audits, and tests, drive quality improvements, and reduce scrap while maintaining a safe work environment.

Required: 1–3 years in a quality role in manufacturing, mechanical aptitude, good communication, and MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ experience in a Quality related role in Manufacturing.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand basic mechanical concepts.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Computer literacy with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Interpersonal skills to communicate and lead effectively.
• Dependability with good attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and generate testing reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform a broad set of quality tests on water heater, cooktop and subassembly components.
• Execute tests such as tank capacity, hydrostatic, cycling, temperature, and leakage checks.
• Lead quality audits and participate in improvement activities.
• Document results and communicate issues to management and production.
• Support fabrication and assembly areas during inspections and containment actions.
• Collaborate with production to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Operate quality equipment and ensure compliance with regulatory programs.
• Assist in creating MCPs and MCIs and ensure SOP inclusion.
• Identify and troubleshoot quality problems with the production team.
