Job summary

Meiden America Switchgear, Inc. is seeking an Associate Test Technician to support quality assurance by testing components and assemblies to meet stringent performance standards. The role emphasizes precise data recording, safety, and collaboration with engineering staff.

You will perform leak checks, BCT testing, hipot testing, and coil measurements while documenting results and maintaining traceability in systems. A strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 2-year technical degree preferred.
• Current, valid driver's license.
• At least one year of relevant experience; multi-function experience preferred.
• Solid understanding of testing equipment and hand tools.
• Ability to interpret complex schematics and troubleshoot circuits.
• Effective communication and teamwork.
• Basic computer skills and mathematics.
• Familiarity with Lean manufacturing and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform helium leak checks on sealed compartments to ensure airtight integrity.
• Conduct BCT (Bushing Current Transformer) testing, verifying CT ratios, polarity, and insulation resistance.
• Perform low voltage Hipot testing to confirm dielectric integrity and insulation strength.
• Measure and document coil resistance values to ensure proper coil function.
• Follow standardized test procedures and work instructions with attention to detail and safety.
• Accurately record all test data and results in tracking systems or documentation logs.
• Work closely with senior technicians and engineering staff to troubleshoot failures and abnormalities.
• Follow all safety procedures around high voltage or pressurized systems.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
