Job summary

Greatlink International, Inc. is seeking a Quality Test Technician in Illinois to verify finished cable assemblies and wire harnesses before shipment. You will test with hi-pot, multimeters, and other equipment, inspect crimps and solder joints, and document findings.

You will troubleshoot failures, coordinate rework with the assembly team, and ensure products meet customer drawings and industry standards, while keeping the work area safe and organized.

Qualifications

• Ability to read wiring schematics and BOMs and understand usage.
• Ability to inspect assemblies for good crimps or joints and explain why.
• Hands-on experience with test equipment, soldering stations, and hand tools.
• Clear communication, in person and in writing, to explain problems and solutions.
• Coachable and comfortable asking questions; basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Test cable assemblies and wire harnesses using hi-pot testers, continuity testers, multimeters, pull testers, network analyzers, and automated test systems
• Inspect crimps, solder joints, and workmanship against drawings and standards
• Troubleshoot failed parts, find root cause, coordinate rework, and verify fixes
• Record test results, maintain test logs, and write inspection reports
• Build and maintain test fixtures and equipment
• Approve finished products for shipment
• Spot problems in production and suggest improvements
• Keep work area clean, safe, and organized
• Other duties as assigned

Greatlink International, Inc. builds custom cable assemblies and wire harnesses. As our Quality Test Technician, you're the final check before products ship to customers. You'll test and inspect finished assemblies, audit them for cosmetic defects, figure out why a part fails, work with the assembly team to get it fixed, and document what you found.

What You'll Do In This Role

• Test cable assemblies and wire harnesses using hi-pot testers, continuity testers, multimeters, pull testers, network analyzers, and automated test systems
• Inspect crimps, solder joints, and overall workmanship against customer drawings and industry standards
• Troubleshoot failed parts, find the root cause, coordinate rework with assembly, and verify the fix
• Record test results, maintain test logs, and write inspection reports
• Build and maintain test fixtures and equipment
• Approve finished products for shipment
• Spot problems in production and suggest improvements
• Keep your work area clean, safe, and organized
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Ability to read wiring schematics, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and BOMs and understand how they are used.
• Ability to inspect assemblies for good crimps or solder joint from a bad one, and explain why
• Hands-on experience with test equipment (multimeters, hi-pot testers, continuity testers, automated test systems), soldering stations, and assembly hand tools
• Clear communication, in person and in writing: you can explain what the problem was, what tools you used, and how you solved it
• Coachable and comfortable speaking up and asking questions
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
