Job summary

Barchemy LLC in Kentucky is seeking a Quality Technician to monitor critical quality attributes of finished products and ingredients for a confectionary plant, recording and reporting results from analyses, inspections, and scoring sessions.

Responsibilities include following SOPs, maintaining the QA Manual, sampling for testing, ensuring cleanliness, and isolating nonconforming products while documenting holds. BS in Food Science or Nutrition and 2–3 years QA experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic computer skills or better in Microsoft Office.
• HACCP and/or HARPC certification preferred.
• Organized, detail oriented, able to handle repetitive tasks quickly and accurately.
• Proactive, responsible, self-motivated and self-managed.

Responsibilities

• Follow Standard Operating Procedure and sample raw ingredients and finished product.
• Maintain Quality Assurance Manual.
• Document results and pertinent observations after each analysis, score session or inspection.
• Retrieve and send samples for analytical and microbiological testing.
• Ensure plant cleanliness and use of allergen testing swabs, environmental and ATP swabs.
• Isolate and place nonconforming products or ingredients on hold and document hold by entering data on Hold Log.
• Responsible for food safety and quality.

The Quality Technician at Barchemy is a very important position. As our Quality Technician, your objective is to monitor critical quality attributes of finished products and ingredients for a confectionary plant according to the Quality systems manual, record and report on a timely manner results from analysis, inspections and scoring sessions.

Quality Technician Responsibilities:

• Follow Standard Operation Procedure and samples raw ingredient and finish product
• Maintain Quality Assurance Manual
• Document results and pertinent observations after each analysis, score session or inspection
• Retrieve and send samples as directed for analytical and microbiological testing
• Ensure plant cleanliness and compliance with use of allergen testing swabs, environmental and ATP swabs
• Isolate and place nonconforming products or ingredients on hold and document hold by entering data on Hold Log and circulating information to Operations and Quality
• Responsible for food safety and quality

Quality Technician Qualifications:

• At least 2-3 years laboratory/quality assurance in a food manufacturing environment
• BS in Food Science, Nutrition or similar
• Basic computer skills or better in Microsoft
• HACCP and/or HARPC certified preferred
• Organized, detail oriented, able to handle repetitive tasks quickly and accurately
• Must be proactive, responsible, self – motivated and self-managed
