Job summary

Barchemy LLC in Pennsylvania seeks a Quality Technician to monitor finished products and ingredients for a confectionery plant, record results, and report findings promptly.

The role requires 2–3 years in food QA, a BS in Food Science or Nutrition, and HACCP/HARPC awareness. You will follow SOPs, manage samples for testing, and help maintain the QA manual while ensuring food safety and quality.

Qualifications

• At least 2-3 years laboratory/quality assurance in a food manufacturing environment.
• BS in Food Science, Nutrition or similar.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Excel or similar.
• HACCP and/or HARPC certified preferred.
• Organized and detail oriented with ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
• Self-motivated and proactive with strong time management.

Responsibilities

• Follow Standard Operation Procedure and samples raw ingredient and finish product
• Maintain Quality Assurance Manual
• Document results and pertinent observations after each analysis, score session or inspection
• Retrieve and send samples as directed for analytical and microbiological testing
• Ensure plant cleanliness and compliance with use of allergen testing swabs, environmental and ATP swabs
• Isolate and place nonconforming products or ingredients on hold and document hold by entering data on Hold Log and circulating information to Operations and Quality
• Responsible for food safety and quality

As our Quality Technician, your objective is to monitor critical quality attributes of finished products and ingredients for a confectionary plant according to the Quality systems manual, record and report on a timely manner results from analysis, inspections and scoring sessions.

Quality Technician Responsibilities

Barchemy offers an above industry standard hourly wage commensurate with experience and performance as well as a benefits package.

Salary Description

18/hour
