Job summary

Barchemy LLC in the United States is seeking a Quality Technician to monitor quality attributes of finished products and ingredients in a confectionery plant, recording results from analyses, inspections and scoring sessions according to the Quality Systems manual.

You will follow SOPs, maintain the QA Manual, document observations, retrieve samples for testing, ensure cleanliness and allergen testing, place nonconforming items on hold, and uphold food safety standards.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years laboratory/quality assurance in a food manufacturing environment.
• BS in Food Science, Nutrition or similar.
• Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office.
• HACCP and/or HARPC certified preferred.
• Organized, detail oriented, able to handle repetitive tasks quickly and accurately.
• Must be proactive, responsible, self–motivated and self-managed.

Responsibilities

• Follow Standard Operation Procedure and samples raw ingredient and finish product.
• Maintain Quality Assurance Manual
• Document results and pertinent observations after each analysis, score session or inspection
• Retrieve and send samples as directed for analytical and microbiological testing
• Ensure plant cleanliness and compliance with use of allergen testing swabs, environmental and ATP swabs
• Isolate and place nonconforming products or ingredients on hold and document hold by entering data on Hold Log and circulating information to Operations and Quality
• Responsible for food safety and quality

The Quality Technician at Barchemy is a very important position. As our Quality Technician, your objective is to monitor critical quality attributes of finished products and ingredients for a confectionary plant according to the Quality systems manual, record and report on a timely manner results from analysis, inspections and scoring sessions.
