Job summary

Amsted Automotive Group, SMW Manufacturing, Taylor, Michigan, is seeking a Quality Technician to join our team. You will inspect and verify product quality through dimensional checks, ensure calibration of measurement equipment, and confirm parts meet customer, engineering, and quality requirements.

You will also support calibration, setups, layouts, and handling of returns, while adhering to safety and environmental guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and competence with GD&T.
• Proven ability to work in a team and maintain a strong work history.
• Attention to detail with emphasis on accuracy and quality.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and verify product quality with dimensional checks.
• Ensure measurement equipment is calibrated and functioning properly.
• Confirm parts meet customer, engineering, and quality requirements.
• Reject defective parts and tag defects accordingly.
• Interpret engineering drawings and collaborate on quality standards.
• Select products for tests and evaluate dimensions and mechanical characteristics.
• Operate diagnostic equipment as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support production.
