Job summary

Nestlé Purina in Rockingham County, NC seeks a Factory Quality Technician (Microbiologist) to manage routine microbiological evaluations of the production environment and processing systems.

You will lead QA activities, verify documentation, and maintain lab equipment, while collaborating with operations to meet safety and quality goals. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year in lab, QA, or food manufacturing.

• Minimum 1 year of laboratory, quality assurance, or food manufacturing experience.

Position Summary

Our newest factory,locatedalong the Virginia border, breathes new life into a former brewery, creating an innovative and technologically advanced pet food manufacturing facility. We have transformed the existing structure in Rockingham County to produce leading dry dog and cat food brands, including Purina Pro Plan®, Purina ONE®, and Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets®. As a FactoryQualityTechnician (Microbiologist), you willbe responsible formanaging routine microbiological evaluations of the factory production environment and processing systems. You will lead the factory in ensuring that all quality operations aspects are in place and high functioning including, but not limited to verification activities, documentation, and recordkeeping.

• Oversee factory Pathogen Monitoring Program


• Interact extensively with the operations group and influence, coach, and train all other factory personnel with regards to QA requirements and expectations


• Responsible for the proper use and maintenance of lab equipment including the maintenance, cleaning, and calibration


• Work as a team with other lab associates to achieve shift, department, and factory objectives

• 1+ years of laboratory, quality assurance and/or food manufacturing experiencerequired

Salary: $44,038.80 to$63,464.00 per year

The pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at top of range.
