Job summary

Eaton's Indianapolis site is seeking a Remanufacturing Quality Technician I to support quality assurance, inspect new and reused components, analyze results, and drive corrective actions that improve product performance and customer satisfaction.

You will collaborate with Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure remanufactured products meet standards, support Lean initiatives, and help maintain safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as Quality Technician in electronics manufacturing/remanufacturing.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Must reside within 50-mile radius of Indianapolis, IN; relocation not provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, audits, sorting, rework, and non-conforming material investigations.
• Verify conformance using CMMs, optical comparators, hardness testers and inspection tools.
• Maintain quality documentation like inspection sheets and control plans.
• Analyze results, participate in CAPA activities, identify root causes, and implement solutions.
• Support Lean initiatives and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do

Position Overview

The Remanufacturing Quality Technician I plays a key role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and continuous improvement of our electronics remanufacturing operations. In this role, you will support quality assurance processes, inspect new and reused components, analyze test results, and help drive corrective actions that improve product performance and customer satisfaction. Working closely with Operations, Engineering, and Quality teams, you will help ensure remanufactured products meet all customer, industry, and company quality standards while supporting Eaton's commitment to continuous improvement, safety, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, audits, sorting activities, product rework, and non-conforming material investigations to ensure products and components meet established quality standards and specifications.
• Verify product conformance using precision measuring and metrology equipment, including CMMs, optical comparators, hardness testers, and standard inspection tools, while troubleshooting measurement equipment as needed.
• Maintain and update quality documentation, including inspection records, test data, operator instructions, control plans, inspection check sheets, visual aids, and other quality system documentation to support compliance and business objectives.
• Analyze test and inspection results, participate in corrective and preventive action (CAPA) activities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes, resolve quality concerns, and implement sustainable solutions.
• Support Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement initiatives, training activities, and process enhancement projects to improve operational performance and product quality.
• Track, communicate, and report key quality metrics while effectively partnering with employees, customers, suppliers, and leadership teams to support quality and remanufacturing objectives.

Minimum Education Required

High School/GED

Basic Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Quality Technician role within the electronics manufacturing or electronics remanufacturing industry.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
• Must reside within a 50-mile radius of Indianapolis, Indiana. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related technical field.
• 2+ years of electronics remanufacturing experience and/or supporting OEM electronics remanufacturing programs.
• Background in electronics remanufacturing, engineering, product development, or a combination of these areas.
• Ability to work independently and make sound technical decisions with limited supervision.
• Demonstrated experience supporting continuous improvement and quality improvement initiatives.
