  • Review adequacy and correctness of changes to procedures, documents, component specifications, FMEAs, and control plans.
  • Assist with development of measurement methods and quality requirements for purchased and manufactured products.
  • Assist with timely disposition of non-conforming materials and ensure corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Participate in corrective action activities including data and trend analysis for complaints and supplier quality.

Job description

Eaton’s IS AER MSD division is currently seeking a Quality Engineering Technician IV.

The hours for this role are 7am-3:30pm

The hourly rate for this position is $30.50 - $35.50 per hour.

What you’ll do:

The Quality Engineering Technician will work closely with Quality Engineering on supporting multiple Integrated Product Teams (IPT). They will be interfacing with other employees including Management, Manufacturing Operations, and Engineering, as well as third party personnel such as Customers, Registrars, and Suppliers (as needed). This position will periodically be called on to help lead multidiscipline teams to assist in bringing systemic issues to closure. This position will work both independently and collaboratively, depending on the issues at hand.

Job Responsibilities
  • Support day to day quality tasks such as generating production quality metrics, documentation of issues, assembling customer data packs, support problem investigations, and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
  • Interpret and apply relevant Domestic and International Regulations and Industry Standards (e.g., ISO, AS, AMS, ASTM, etc.) when required as part of tasks.
  • Support regulatory and agency inspections, audits, investigations, and inquiries regarding the control and assessment of product design and manufacturing quality.
  • Review the adequacy and correctness of changes to Procedures, Documents, Component Specification, FMEAs, Control Plans, as applicable.
  • Assist with the development of measurement methods and quality requirements for purchased and manufactured product.
  • Assist with the timely disposition of non-conforming materials, maintain compliance to necessary regulatory requirements, and ensure adequacy of corrective actions to prevent re-occurrence, as applicable.
  • Participate in Corective Action activities, including analysis of data and trends in complaints, supplier quality, nonconforming material, training effectiveness, and root causes analysis.
  • Work with suppliers, Management, Engineers, and Manufacturing in the resolution of quality problems.
Qualifications:
Education level required
Education (at least one of the following):
  • 4-year degree in a technical discipline
  • 2-year degree in a technical discipline and a minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment
  • High School diploma and 5 years related mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by export laws of the US. In order to be eligible you must be either a US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Years and area of experience required
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment
Technical knowledge
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and requirements.
  • Basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
