Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Quality Inspector-level professional in Kentucky to lead and train team members on quality, schedule, yield, and productivity goals. The role requires applying 5S standards, performing root cause analysis, and supporting on-line QA activities from start to finish.

You will coordinate day-to-day work, conduct audits, participate in QRQC sessions, and drive process improvements with the engineering team. Strong interpersonal skills and proficiency in Excel are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist in root cause analysis and implement improved processes.
• Conduct FAI activities for server and rack sides.
• Complete LPA audits (Level 1 and 2).
• Recommend improvements to line balancing and machine programs.
• Support quality inspection duties and 5S standards on the floor.
• Identify growth potential in inspectors and provide coaching.
• Maintain standard work in inspection processes and participate in QRQC.
• Serve as a communication link between operators and management.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Provides leadership, motivation and training to work area by developing team members and helping them meeting the company's goals in terms of quality, schedule, yield and productivity according to procedures. Coordinates day-to-day activities or work area, from start of flow to finish.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assists in performing root cause analysis and implementing improved processes that will improve metrics (Quality / Efficiency)
• Is able to conduct FAI activities for both server and rack sides of the business
• Completes level 1 and 2 LPA audits
• Provides recommendations to the engineering staff to improve line balancing and optimize machine programs, their set-ups to meet or exceed theoretical product run-rate, and line(s) efficiency
• Understands duties and performance calculation for Server Quality Inspection
• Participates in QRQC sessions per stop line matrix
• Understands duties and performance calculation for Rack Quality, FNI, and OBA
• Able to identify and develop inspectors and operators that have potential for growth in the organization and teach them critical product and process knowledge.
• Conducts purge and hold activities as required to ensure no bad product reaches the customer.
• Ensures standard work is implemented and followed in inspection process
• Actively participation in the manufacturing floor to assure visual standards and implementation of 5S standards
• Identify in real-time, quality issues/defects generated in the manufacturing process and take necessary actions immediately. Provides daily report at end of shift and my represent quality in the CAC meeting
• To serve as a communication link between operators and management.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  

Management & Supervisory Responsibilities

• Will report to Quality Manager or Quality Engineer
• Job is NOT directly responsible for managing other employees (e.g., hiring/termination and/or pay decisions, performance management).
  

Job Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of inspectors, supervisors, managers.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to operate a personal computer including using a Windows based operating system and related software.
• Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil’s software packages.
• Ability to write simple correspondence. Read and understand visual aids / procedures.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple instructions.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
  

Education & Experience Requirements

• High School Degree or equivalent.
• Experience must include:
• General knowledge of electronic component handling.
• Knowledge of process flows to include flow charts and written processes.
• Reading, writing and math skills.
• Working Knowledge of Excel, Word, and Jabil system.
• Strong interpersonal skills required, with demonstrated ability to build and maintain teamwork.
