Twenty-Six Defense Maritime in Florida seeks a Technician, Quality III to support product quality, lead continuous improvement projects, drive supplier quality development and create improved quality metrics.

The role requires reading blueprints and engineering specifications, testing materials, recording data, and evaluating quality against standards. Proficiency in MS Office, GD&T, CMM use, and quality systems is expected; up to 10% travel may be required.

Qualifications

  • US citizenship is required for access to sensitive information.
  • Minimum 3 years related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications and third‑party specs to obtain material, finish and dimension data.
  • Performs testing and evaluation of material in production, testing products for dimensions and mechanical characteristics.
  • Records test data and applies statistical quality control when required.
  • Contributes to failure analysis and root cause investigations.
  • Evaluates data and writes reports; prepares graphs or data visuals for analysis.
  • Assists in developing and implementing inspection/testing/evaluation standards.
  • Applies metrology practices and selects gauges for quality inspection plans.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The Technician, Quality III is responsible for product quality support, execution of continuous improvement projects, supplier quality development, and development of improved quality metrics.

Responsibilities and Tasks
  • Reads and Interprets blueprints, engineering specifications and third-party specifications to obtain product information such as specified material, surface finish, and dimensions.
  • Performs testing and evaluation of material in production process, and test products for variety of qualities such as dimensions, and mechanical characteristics.
  • Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures when required.
  • Contribute to failure analysis and root cause investigation as required.
  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Application of the proper metrology practices and gauge selection in regard to the development of Quality Inspection Plans.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, Licenses and Certifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Abilities
  • US Citizenship is Required.
  • Capable in using all hand-held measuring devices (Calipers, Micrometer, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications and product information.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including; Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams.
  • Fully versed with ANSI Y-14.5 Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
  • Capable of operating a CMM (FARO Arm).
  • Good understanding of Quality Management Systems (AS-9100 preferred).
  • Ability to communicate and/or present information to others.
Travel and Physical Requirements
  • 10% Travel Requirement.
