Job summary

Astec is seeking a Quality Technician to ensure material and product quality across receiving, in-process, and final inspections. You will document results, support root cause analysis, and collaborate with manufacturing teams to uphold 6S and OSHA compliance.

The role requires 4–6 years in heavy manufacturing quality, familiarity with ISO/quality systems, and strong written/verbal communication. A high school diploma is required, with an AA degree or ASQ certification preferred.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years’ experience as a Quality Technician in heavy manufacturing
• 1-3 years’ ISO or similar quality/inspection experience
• ASQ certification desirable
• Mechanical background in hydraulics, diesel engines, or electronics
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to document processes and follow engineering specifications

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspection checks on products and production processes.
• Perform manual and automated quality checks.
• Maintain accurate reports of issues and trends.
• Identify actions to resolve quality issues.
• Adhere to Astec quality standards.
• Support other departments in root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Prepare quality documentation and reports.
