Job summary

Novanta Inc. is seeking a QA Technician to oversee inspection processes for incoming and outgoing parts, driving quality investigations and contributing to new product development.

You will collaborate with R&D, Operations, Sales and customer service to ensure accurate quality data and timely improvements. This role requires self‑direction, strong communication, and hands‑on use of measurement tools including micrometers, height gauges, calipers, and CMMs (Zeiss Calypso).

Qualifications

• AS degree in mechanical, industrial, electrical, or manufacturing engineering.
• 3-year relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient with Smartsheet, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to adapt to changing requirements and show initiative.
• Experience with ERP systems (Oracle) and customer portals is a plus.
• Experience with CMM, Zeiss Calypso, is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage own time and priorities with minimal supervision.
• Be detail-oriented and thorough in inspections and data collection.
• Complete FAIR in support of quality engineers.
• Work at a high pace in a changing environment.
• Communicate cross-functionally with R&D, Operations, Sales and customer service.
• Train manufacturing and inspection personnel.
