Job summary

Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. in Wisconsin seeks an experienced Quality Inspector to support manufacturing through proactive inspection and testing against drawings and specifications.

You will document data, use SPC where applicable, calibrate instruments, and contribute to MRB actions and ISO audits, ensuring product conformity. The role requires three years of manufacturing/engineering experience and reading blueprints; a high school diploma or GED is required, with an associate degree

• Ability to evaluate inspection results, determine product conformity, and make sound quality decisions.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare reports, procedures, and communicate findings.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and test products throughout manufacturing to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Perform dimensional, attribute, mechanical, performance, destructive, and non-destructive testing as required.
• Record inspection and test data while utilizing Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods when applicable.
• Prepare inspection reports, document nonconformances, and assist production teams in implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Calibrate and maintain inspection tools, gauges, and measurement equipment.
• Operate precision measuring equipment including CMMs, profilometers, hardness testers, optical comparators, calipers, micrometers, protractors, and other inspection instruments.
• Lead or support Material Review Board (MRB) activities, containment actions, and internal/external sorting projects.
• Conduct and lead quality audits, including ISO and in-process product audits.
• Perform other quality-related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift and move materials up to 25 lbs.
• Perform standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting, pushing, and pulling throughout 8–12 hour shifts.
• Work primarily on concrete flooring in a manufacturing environment.
• Wear required personal protective equipment, including hearing protection, in high-noise production areas.
