Job summary

Chandler Industries is seeking a Quality Tech II to perform quality inspection and testing on materials, parts, components, and finished products across production stages. The role supports the design and implementation of inspection methods, plans, and testing equipment.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, performing GD&T, validating processes, creating NCRs, and contributing to lean initiatives while maintaining accurate quality records and ensuring on-time delivery.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of metrology and measurement machines (CMM).
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and proficiency in English.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, check, and test materials, parts, components, and products at various production stages using drawings and specifications.
  • Verify first article and perform Gage R&R, CPK studies, and PPAPs.
  • Read engineering drawings and GD&T; perform measurements with appropriate tools.
  • Document inspection data and maintain quality records per procedures.
  • Support CMM programs and fixturing; assist with quality improvements and supplier quality initiatives.

Position Summary

The Quality Tech II performs quality inspection and testing on materials, parts, components, and product that is received, in-process, and finished per customer, company, and regulatory requirements. Assists with the design, development and implementation of inspection methods, plans and testing equipment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Use work instructions, job travelers, blueprints, engineer drawings and specifications; inspects, checks, and tests materials, parts, components, and product during various stages of production including receiving, in-process, and finished.
  • Verify first piece; complete Gage R&R, CPK studies and PPAPs.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications; handle complex GD&T with limited guidance.
  • Select and maintain the appropriate tools, gauges, scales, and equipment for the feature or characteristic required to perform accurate, repeatable measurements.
  • Conduct dimensional, bore, plate-based, and functional inspections independently.
  • Perform part alignments, surface evaluations, hardness checks, and visual inspections.
  • Execute inspection CMM programs and perform basic troubleshooting as needed.
  • Create, maintain, support CMM/SmartScope programs and design and maintain fixturing.
  • Check and monitor materials and equipment to verify calibration status.
  • Accurately document and record inspection or test data, such as weights, dimensions, resistance, and quantities inspected, accepted, and rejected.
  • Process and maintain all quality records per appropriate procedures to maintain accountability, acceptance, and status.
  • Write basic Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) independently.
  • Clearly communicate inspection results with operators, supervisors, and quality personnel.
  • Verify travelers and other documentation for compliance to established procedures.
  • Create and maintain specific work instructions to support manufacturing operations.
  • Support and assist quality improvement teams, engineers, and operations to resolve problem issues and improve quality.
  • Assist with supplier quality initiatives to facilitate corrective and preventative action relative to supplier quality problems and source inspection issues.
  • Manage assigned workload independently while maintaining performance.
  • Take ownership of work and promptly identify and escape quality issues.
  • Maintain an organized, clean and safe environment and maintains 5 'S' standards. Comply with safety rules including Personal Protective Equipment and OSHA standards.
  • Participate in Lean initiatives eliminating waste.
  • Support training of Quality and Production staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in general manufacturing role in Aerospace, Medical or other highly regulated industries, preferred.
  • ISO 9001:AS9100 and ISO 13485 experience, preferred.
  • 3+ years of inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of metrology, including measurement machines (CMM).
  • Basic math skills (i.e., addition, subtraction, decimals, etc.).
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient reading, writing, oral communication and comprehension in English language.
  • Punctual and good attendance.
  • Cooperative attitude, shares critical information, and remains professional in difficult situations.
  • Willingness to learn. Will ask for help when needed.
  • Ability to follow instruction, work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certified quality inspector, preferred.
