Job description

JOB SUMMARY: The Quality Technician I, within a specified area of production, is responsible for the inspection and test of incoming materials, work in process, and finished goods to establish material quality and lot acceptance to specifications, along with operating relevant test equipment and input of related data into quality system databases, and the generation of required reports. The Quality Technician I is expected to be competent in all relevant role requirements.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):

• Perform various testing required for acceptance of incoming raw materials and production materials in a timely manner

• Enter data into quality system databases to document and maintain test, inspection, and calibration records

• Work according to written operating procedures

• Operate computer programs to generate reports and issue quality certifications

• Maintain quality hold cages and containment of non-conforming material

• Work with basic math, statistical, and chemical equations

• Partner with technical support, manufacturing, quality engineers, as well as operations staff, to meet objectives

• Read and interpret simple drawings and diagrams

• Exercise authority to accept or reject material

• Exercise authority to remove monitoring and measurement equipment from service

• Uphold the standards necessary to maintain our business certifications and to maintain good quality standards and practices associated with them

• Performs other duties or special projects as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required

• 1 year work experience in a manufacturing environment required; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

• Knowledge of quality standards and statistical concepts

• Be able to perform statistical analysis using various software packages

• Proficient in Microsoft Office specifically Word and Excel

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently or in a team, as needed to meet goals

• Demonstrable strong interpersonal skills

• Strong organizational skills • Provide own source of transportation for any local/day travel, including travel between Indium Corporation facilities

Monday-Friday

1st Shift: 7:00am-3:30pm

The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity.

The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package. Other components include health, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, retirement plan, volunteer opportunities, paid holidays, overtime opportunities, and many more.

$17.50 per hour - $22.00 per hour

($36,000 - $45,500 annually)
