Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a quality assurance technician to uphold product standards on the shop floor. You will perform audits, data collection and 100% end-of-line inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.

A Tablet PC and Excel proficiency are needed, along with basic measurement tools. The role requires collaboration with operators to drive continuous improvement and defect reduction across vinyl windows and siding lines; prior manufacturing experience helps, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Able to read and write, use Outlook and Excel on Tablet PC.
• 1 year of manufacturing experience in Windows Manufacturing.
• Ability to read a tape measure, calipers, micrometers; knowledge about measurement and test equipment.
• Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Maintain QA processes and test product samples; report deviations.
• Perform CTQ and CFA audits on Tablet PC.
• Train Operators to comply with No Defect Forward (NDF).
• Conduct frame weld strength testing and related QA checks.
• Perform all QA testing per AAMA specifications.
• Perform functional and fabrication checks per standard practice.
• Report issues and generate NCRs with Tablet PC.
• Use SafetyCulture and Excel to compile data as requested.
• Perform 100% EOLI on vinyl lines; rotate lines every 2 weeks.
• Assist leadership in root-cause analysis using 5 Whys.
• Maintain cleanliness; perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Pay rate: $19/hr

Maintains quality assurance processes, tests product samples, analyzes/records results data and reports issues that deviate from allowable standards/tolerances. Dunk Tank, Water Wall, CTQ, CFA, NDF, QC Flag Process, NCR, QPS, 5S, Kaizen Continuous Improvement.

Performs CTQ Audits using SafetyCulture on Tablet PC

Performs CFA Audits using SafetyCulture on Tablet PC

Trains Operators to comply with No Defect Forward (NDF)

Conduct Frame Weld Strength Testing, as required

Perform all quality testing as required by AAMA specifications

Perform functional and fabrication checks as required by standard practice

Report issues deviating from allowable tolerances. Generate NCR using Tablet PC.

Use Tablet PC to perform quality audits and generate Non‑Conforming Reports (NCR)

Research and compile data using SafetyCulture and Excel, as requested

Utilize band saw to cut pieces as needed for impact testing and weld strength testing

Perform 100% EOLI on vinyl lines, rotating to a different line every 2 weeks.

Perform Dunk Tank / Water Wall Tests.

Assist Leadership determine root cause of issues using QPS 5 Whys quick problem solving process.

Maintain cleanliness, sweep area as needed

Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read and write, use Outlook and Excel on Tablet PC.
• 1 year of manufacturing experience in Windows Manufacturing.
• Ability to read a tape measure, calipers, micrometers; knowledge about measurement and test equipment,
• Computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
