Job summary

Tellus Products, LLC is seeking a full-time Quality Technician I on night shift. The role reports to the Quality Assurance Supervisor and covers finished product sampling, inspection, testing, hold/disposition, and coaching to reinforce quality standards on the production floor.

The successful candidate will communicate issues to the shift supervisor, contribute to quality reports, and uphold Tellus quality program requirements with strong attention to detail and adherence to GMP.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred 1 year of quality experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be flexible, reliable and organized.
  • Ability to learn quickly; Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Physically able to work in varying positions and lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Routinely inspect the final product for defects.
  • Communicate issues to the supervisor to identify root causes and corrective actions.
  • Maintain presence on the production floor.
  • Communicate and reinforce quality standards to Operators.
  • Report on quality issues that require machine downtime for cleaning/maintenance.
  • Oversee quality control sampling and testing by Quality Technicians.
  • Assist Quality Management in document filing and review.
  • Provide detailed report on each production machine at end of each shift; verify paperwork.
  • Maintain board in production office; ensure clean records and GMP compliance.
  • Follow all health and safety rules and regulations; wear PPE as required.
  • Perform critical tests in the lab in the absence of other Quality team members.

Overview

Our manufacturing company needs a full-time Quality Technician I on night shift. This position will report directly to the Quality Assurance Supervisor and be responsible for all quality activities on their respective shift. This includes, but not limited to, finished product sampling, inspection, and testing, hold product escalation and disposition. He or she will also be pivotal in coaching and correcting Operators and reinforcing quality standards on the production floor. The successful candidate will be expected to communicate to the shift supervisor about machine quality and sanitary conditions, reject root causes and operator performance. This position serves a critical role in the Tellus Products Quality program and will be responsible for quality reports .

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Routinely inspect the final product for defects
  • Communicate issues to the supervisor to identify root causes of defects and communicate corrective action to the operator and supervisor.
  • Maintain presence on production floor
  • Communicate and reinforce quality standards to Operators
  • Be able to report on quality issues that require machines to go down for cleaning/maintenance
  • Report on rejecting drivers per production machine on each shift
  • Oversee the removal and placement of rejects
  • Oversee quality control sampling and testing by Quality Technicians
  • Respond quickly to issues reported by Quality Technicians
  • Assisting Quality Management in document filing and review
  • Provide detailed report on each production machine at the end of each shift, Verify all paperwork
  • Maintain board in production office
  • Utilize good manufacturing practices and ensure work is complete to required standard
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in repetitive tasks
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment and identifies hazards that may arise
  • Follow all health and safety rules and regulations
  • Any other tasks required from time to time may be assigned
  • Expected to perform critical tests in the lab in the absence of other Quality team members
Qualifications & Skills
  • Must be 18 years of age

  • Ability to learn quicklyWorking knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office
  • Work and disciplinary record will be considered
  • Good verbal, reading, writing and basic math skills
  • Physically able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to: sitting, walking, climbing, kneeling, lifting, reaching and pulling.
  • Must be able to frequently lift 25 to 60 pounds
  • This position requires the flexibility to work Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, as needed based on business needs.
