Job summary

AMMEGA is seeking a Quality Technician III in Jefferson to inspect materials and finished goods, ensure conformance to specifications, and support Returned Goods Authorization and disposition of final assessments. This role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and collaboration with the Production Team Lead to identify non-conformities, track trends, and assist in containment and root cause analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Observe and follow safety rules as prescribed by the safety policy; complete work on schedule.
  • Perform final inspection of finished goods to guarantee compliance with order content and quality standards.
  • Track product non-conformities and report trend information to the Production Team Lead and operations management.
  • Assist in the containment of known non-conformities.
  • Participate in root cause evaluation and problem solving for continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate returned material for defect accountability.
  • Communicate regularly with customer service and QA management.

For our Ammeraal Beltech and AMMEGA Operations team, we are currently looking for a: Quality technician III

The Quality Technician III test materials before, during, and after production to measure the characteristics of materials and ensure that they conform to specifications. They are responsible for inspecting and testing the raw materials and products to make sure they meet required levels of quality. Additional responsibilities will include evaluation of returned material under a Returned Goods Authorization and disposition of final assessment. In this role, you will be based in Jefferson.

A day in the life of a Quality Technician III can look like
  • Observe and follow safety rules as prescribed by the safety policy. Completes an expected amount of work based on time studies in accordance with schedule. Able to operate all necessary equipment in a proficient manner.
  • Perform final inspection of finished goods to guarantee compliance with order content and quality standards.
  • Track product non-conformities and report trend information to the Production Team Lead and operations management.
  • Assist in the containment of known non-conformities.
  • Participate in the root cause evaluation and problem solving efforts associated with continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate returned material for defect accountability.
  • Perform regular housekeeping of the work station assigned.
  • Identify unusual or uncommon fabrication instruction and clarify with Production Team Lead.
  • Provide assistance as required in other areas as needed to support company and plant goals.
  • Open RGA case files and update notes as the case unfolds.
  • Communicate regularly with customer service and QA management.
  • Complete any additional special assignments as assigned.
We are looking for you to have
  • High school Diploma, GED, Technical/Trade School or equivalent experience
  • Prior manufacturing work experience in quality inspection and using various hand tools such as a caliper, micrometer and tape measure
  • Basic computer skills including: Outlook, MS Excel and Word, experience creating charts and graphs preferred
  • Experience with manufacturing and customer relationship management systems a plus
  • Familiarity with basic office equipment, including copier and scanner
  • Ability to read and comprehend shop orders and working drawings written in English
  • Must be able to read and interpret measuring devices (tape measures, calipers, scales)
  • Ability to complete basic mathematical functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide) using whole numbers, fractions, decimals and metric system
  • Must be able to work in the US

During the performance of his/her work duties, the incumbent will be required to occasionally lift up and manipulate to 50 pounds, and will frequently lift and manipulate to 25 pounds such as moving parts from material storage and moving parts in and out of work area.
