Job summary

Pexco, a leading plastics and polymer products manufacturer, is seeking a QA Technician for our Tacoma-area plant. You will perform dimensional inspection of extruded tubing, assist the quality lead, and help ensure products meet specifications in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma (preferred), basic math skills, and good written and verbal communication. Shift is 11pm–7am, Sunday to Thursday, with an initial training period on days.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in production environment preferred, preferably with Quality.
  • Above average communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Able to perform basic mathematical computations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Responsibilities

  • Maintains compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Completes annual training as required.
  • Wear PPE during the shift, including safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and footwear.
  • Assist quality lead with dimensional measurement of extruded tubing and tubing assemblies.
  • Visual inspection of extruded tubing and assemblies.
  • Perform calibrations.
  • Initial of proposed specifications or revision of existing specifications.
  • Packaging and shipping product.
  • Production lot release activities.
  • In-process inspection activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities.
  • Use calipers and protractors to inspect parts.

Pexco has an opening for a QA Technician. This is an opportunity for you to be part of a passionate team, to learn and teach as you progress in your career.

Pexco is looking for a QA Technician for our manufacturing plant located in Fife, WA.

The Quality Department has processes in place to ensure things run smoothly, and everyone is working towards the same goal, which is to produce quality products our customers are proud of.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintains compliance with Company and plant safety policies and procedures.
  • Completes all annual training as required.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) during the entire shift, to include safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety footwear, etc.
  • Assist quality lead or designee with the dimensional measurement of extruded tubing and various tubing assemblies.
  • Visual inspection of extruded tubing and various tubing assemblies
  • Perform calibrations.
  • Initiation of proposed specifications and /or revision of existing specifications
  • Packaging and shipping product
  • Production lot release activities
  • In process inspection activities
  • Maintain accurate, legible, and detailed records of activities.
  • Accurately use calipers, protractors, and other measuring devices to inspect parts.
  • Other duties as assigned by the management team.
Qualifications:
  • High School graduate or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in production environment preferred but not necessary, preferably with the Quality department.
  • Above average communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Able to perform basic mathematical computations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Physical Demands:
  • Moving and lifting objects up to 30 lbs.
  • Walking, standing and otherwise perform job functions on concrete floors.
  • Occasional repetitive movements
  • Works in a warehouse and manufacturing environment. Climate may be cold or hot depending on outside temperature.
  • Exposed to dust, odors, fumes, and noise associated with the extrusion and fabrication manufacturing processes.
Schedule:
  • 11pm-7am
  • Sunday to Thursday
  • Training first 2 weeks on days 7am-3pm.
