Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate tensile testing equipment safely and accurately.
• Train measuring techniques to adhere to Aluminum Standard Association tolerances.
• Conduct quality inspections on aluminum before, during and after processing.
• Retrieve and document data per customer requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality concerns.
• Maintain a clean quality lab and manufacturing area.
• Promote the highest quality product and support the Quality Management System.

APEL Extrusions, Inc. is an independent extruder, finisher and fabricator of aluminum extrusions, with six extrusion presses and a full array of finishing capabilities occupying over 600,000 square feet of modern manufacturing space employing approximately 300 people. With facilities in Calgary Canada, Coburg Oregon, and Phoenix Arizona, APEL serves the commercial, residential, and industrial markets of Western Canada and the Western United States.

Job Summary

The Quality Technician’s primary responsibility is to provide mechanical testing of extruded material in accordance with customer requirements and to the Aluminum Standards Association guidelines. As part of the Quality Department, the Tech will also ensure that APEL’s activities are performed and documented in accordance with APEL’s quality requirements.
