McDonald Plastic Molding is seeking a Quality Layout Technician to perform first article inspections on new and transferring parts, support CMM programs, and help establish quality processes. The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED and six months to one year of related experience, with knowledge of blueprint reading and CMM layouts preferred.

The position emphasizes creating inspection plans, gages, and process controls, plus participation in FMEA and control plan development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months to one year of related experience or training.
• Knowledge of blueprint reading and prior CMM layout experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create bubbled prints and FAIR forms.
• Determine inspection methods to measure parts.
• Create Vertex Programs if needed.
• Perform First Article Inspections and Annual Layouts.
• Construct/obtain gauges and fixtures.
• Perform process capability studies.
• Review current inspection methods and process capabilities.
• Maintain SPC data and software.
