Job summary

Merchants Metals is seeking a Quality Technician to support the QMS, performing quality control checks and daily inspections to ensure safety and quality standards. You will gather data and assist in implementing process improvements on the shop floor.

You will test during manufacturing, record results, participate in audits, track CTQ data, and help maintain specifications. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in a technical discipline or 5+ years in manufacturing quality.
• BS degree with 0–2 years acceptable.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical equations.
• Reading and interpreting drawings and specs.
• Knowledge of inspection equipment and methodologies.
• English reading/writing/speaking; bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control checks and inspections on products.
• Record test results and retrain as needed for QC investigations.
• Participate in internal and external audits.
• Gather CTQ data and input to database; drive shop floor actions.
• Maintain process control parameters and specs.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Create and revise quality documentation.
• Train and implement processes and procedures.
• Maintain housekeeping in QC areas.
• Build relationships with team members and other departments.
