Job summary

L3Harris Technologies Ashburn, VA seeks a Quality Technician focused on precision measurement, inspection, and quality control processes. You will work with Quality Engineers and Operations to ensure compliance and drive process improvements in assembly and test environments.

The role requires a detail-oriented problem solver capable of documenting inspection results, maintaining calibration records, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to uphold operational excellence in a defense

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post‑Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform data entry and maintain records for inspections, non-conformances, and reports.
• Collaborate with Quality Engineers and Operations to manage daily priorities.
• Perform duties in compliance with documented procedures.
• Interpret GD&T to measure part dimensions and verify tolerances.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and production teams to resolve measurement-related issues and improve inspection processes.
• Analyze measurement data, generate detailed inspection reports, and recommend corrective actions for non-conforming parts.
• Develop and maintain inspection documentation, including program files, setup sheets, and calibration records.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and company procedures in all measurement activities.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of quality control processes.
• Ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance.

Qualifications

Preferred Additional Skills

• Expert knowledge and/or experience with ASME Y14.5 and GD&T.
• Experience with Mitutoyo MCOSMOS software.
• Basic understanding of aircraft construction and materials.
• Working ability to utilize measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, and pin gauges.
• Experience with CMM program.

Salary and Benefits

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in California, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Washington, and the Greater D.C., Denver, or NYC areas is $32.93 – $61.06. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
