Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Waco, TX is seeking a Quality Technician (CQMS) to drive quality excellence across the facility. You will develop procedures, perform audits, and lead root-cause analysis to prevent defects while supporting CPS/5S and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a quality-related role.
• Experience developing procedures and standard work (SOPs/SWIs).
• Proficiency with inspection equipment and measurement gauges.
• Working knowledge of SAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain procedures and standard work (SOPs/SWIs) aligned to CQMS.
• Conduct quality audits (CQMS, Planned Method Audits, Customer Acceptance Validation (CAV), etc.).
• Lead and support root cause analysis and corrective actions (ICA/PCA).
• Partner with cross-functional teams and leadership to coordinate audits, improvements, and issue resolution.
• Develop and manage quality checks (PDI, IQA, and others).
• Document, track, and report quality issues and audit findings.
• Support Continuous Improvement and CPS/5S initiatives.
• Provide floor-level quality support and collaboration with technicians, auditors, and operations.
• Follow and utilize CPS principles of 5S, assist with achieving 5S goals.
