Job summary

Caterpillar East Peoria, IL seeks a Quality Engineer to drive advanced inspection, auditing, and data-driven improvements. You will partner with manufacturing and engineering to prevent defects, reduce variation, and strengthen the quality system on site.

The role emphasizes disciplined quality execution, continuous improvement, and collaboration across teams, with relocation assistance available and travel up to 5%.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing.
• Experience in manufacturing quality, design or engineering environments.
• ASQ CQE/CMQ/OE or equivalent certification is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and metrology equipment.

Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, trend non-conformance data for root-cause actions.
• Maintain quality system docs for traceability and audits.
• Support audits with corrective actions follow-up and closure.
• Identify quality risks with cross-functional teams and preventive controls.
• Lead cross-functional teams to solve complex quality issues.
• Manage disposition of non-conforming material and defect analysis.
• Develop and manage the quality plan.
