Job summary

Carlson Tool & Manufacturing Corp. in Cedarburg, WI is seeking a Quality Technician / CMM Operator. You will ensure conformity of precision machined components through inspection, measurement, and data analysis within Carlson’s quality management system.

The role requires 2–3 years of technical experience or a related diploma, with CMM experience (PC-DMIS) a plus. You will work on the floor with machinists and leadership to prevent defects and drive first-pass quality.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience OR related a technical diploma (required)
• CMM experience (PC-DMIS) is a plus
• Strong GD&T and machining knowledge
• SPC understanding

Responsibilities

• Partner with machinists on the floor to prevent defects, validate setups, and control processes in real time.
• Provide proactive machining support via in-process verification and data-driven decisions to achieve first-time quality and reduce variation.
• Develop and execute CMM programs using PC-DMIS, optimize programs for production efficiency, and support reporting and inspection records.
• Promote teamwork, open communication, and continuous improvement across machining and quality functions.
• Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized.
