Job summary

Axalta is seeking a Quality Technician to join our Brighton, MI manufacturing site. You will perform routine lab-based quality testing on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods, recording results and supporting investigations to meet customer requirements and regulatory standards.

You will assist with CAPA, QNs, audits, and quality system documentation, helping drive continuous improvement and data-driven quality metrics in a dynamic coatings environment.

Qualifications

• Previous Quality Control, Quality Assurance, or laboratory testing experience
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work with PPE
• Experience in manufacturing or coatings environments is a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform routine quality control testing on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods using established laboratory methods and procedures
• Record inspection and test results accurately
• Support Quality Engineers with customer complaint investigations and product issue resolution
• Assist with Quality Notifications (QNs), CAPA, and internal quality investigations
• Participate in root cause analysis using 5 Why, 8D, CAPA, and FTA
• Assist with internal quality audits and quality system compliance activities
• Create, maintain, and ensure compliance with quality system documentation
• Track, trend, and analyze quality data to support metrics and improvements
• Maintain laboratory records, filing systems, and retain sample inventories
