Santa Rosa Metrology Laboratory is seeking a Quality Technician for a swing shift in Santa Rosa, CA. The role focuses on high-precision measurement, GD&T application, and data capture to ensure conformance of machined and vendor-sourced parts.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of relevant metrology experience.
  • Strong GD&T knowledge and ability to read blueprints.
  • Experience with CMM and optical measurement techniques preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate high-precision measuring devices to ensure part quality from various sources.
  • Calibrate hand tools, gauges, and calibration kit components.
  • Plan and judge tasks, solve problems of varying scope.
  • Enter data into ERP system and support lean initiatives.
  • Maintain professional relationships and uphold ethics.

The Santa Rosa Metrology Laboratory has a position for a quality technician looking for a challenging position in the metrology field.

Responsibilities
  • Use of high precision mechanical and optical measurement devices to ensure the quality of machined/milled/turned and other manufactured parts from various sources, both within and from external vendors.
  • Duties also include the calibration of hand tools, various gauges, and the mechanical measurement of calibration kit components.
  • Responsible for completing tasks which require planning and judgment.
  • Able to solve a broad range of problems of varying scope and complexity.
  • Access information and/or enter data into enterprise resource planning (ERP) system.
  • Be familiar with lean techniques/methodologies, and be expected to use them in your day-to-day activities.
  • Exhibit the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with wide range of people.
  • Adhere to the highest standards of business ethics.
  • Provide consistent, solid contribution to team delivery goals.
  • Exercise good discretion in the use of time and other resources.
  • Maintain high workmanship standards and delivers on commitments.
  • Adhere to established processes and is responsible for achieving established team goals.
Skills
  • The candidate must have at least 3 - 5 years’ relevant experience.
  • Be a strong team player and have good communications skills; both verbal and written.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced, high stress environment.
  • Must have strong Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) background, and be able to read blueprints. Should have understanding of mechanical metrology hand tool usage.
  • Experience using automated software platforms is a plus. Strong PC (MS Windows/Office) skills are a must.
  • Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) required, and with optical measurement techniques preferred.
Education
  • Be a strong team player and have good communications skills; both verbal and written.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced, high stress environment.
  • Strong Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) background is a plus.
