Job summary

Impact CNC in Columbia City, Indiana, seeks a Quality Technician to inspect parts and assure quality according to our Quality Management System. You will coordinate daily inspections and approve changeovers when conformance is verified.

This hands-on role supports manufacturing operations. You’ll use calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs, perform audits, update work instructions, and ensure gauges are calibrated.

Qualifications

  • 1 year manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic measurement tools for inspection understood.
  • Familiar with gage calibration, usage, verification and cleaning.
  • General knowledge of GD&T and reading blueprints.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and complete daily quality inspections

  • Review non-conforming material and dispositioning material by supplier
  • Ensure final quality audits for outgoing products meet specs
  • Conduct layered process audits as directed
  • Create and update process work instructions to inspect products
  • Cleaning, calibrating, and loading parts on the CMMs for daily inspections
  • Issuing training opportunities to manufacturing members to resolve performance issues
  • Ensuring gauges are clean and calibrated for use by manufacturing associates
  • Ensuring that process data, paperwork and related records are maintained

Job Details

Job Location: COLUMBIA CITY, IN 46725Overview:

A Quality Technician’s core role is to inspect parts through defined intervals assuring product quality in accordance with the Quality Management System for Impact CNC.

Job Duties
  • Co-ordinate and complete daily quality inspections
  • Issue approvals for changeovers when product conformance is verified.
  • Review non-conforming material regularly and dispositioning material by supplier.
  • Ensure final quality audits for outgoing products are completed in accordance with product specifications.
  • Conduct layered process audits as directed.
  • Creating and updating process work instructions to inspect products.
  • Cleaning, calibrating, and loading parts on the CMMs to ensure daily quality inspections take place.
  • Issuing training opportunities as applicable to manufacturing members to resolve performance issues.
  • Ensuring that gauges are clean and calibrated for use for manufacturing associates.

Qualifications
  • Candidates with a minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with basic measurement tools for inspection such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges and snap gauges.
  • General understanding of gage calibration, usage, verification, and cleaning.
  • General knowledge of GD&T and ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office tools.
